April 6, 2023 - Popped and poured. Dark garnet. Floral cherry nose. Palate shows dark cherry, sandalwood. Medium bodied, fully resolved tannins. Great balancing acidity and vibrancy. Long final.

Complete wine with excellent balance, complexity and refreshment value. Lovely.

March 5, 2023 - Dark garnet. Kirsch bouquet. Dark cherry, licorice, some spice notes and a hint of florality. Medium bodied, great vibrancy balancing a palpable sense of sweetness and fine tannins. Quite long.

Overall this is wonderfully balanced, with good complexity and interest.

January 12, 2022 - Decanted for two hours. Feels like life was gone a bit on first glass. Left it overnight with soft cover and drank much better the next day. Had a decent mouth feel, more earth than fruit, classic southern rhone style but not classic CDP to me. Not one of Chapoutier’s best offerings and perhaps a bit past its prime.

August 19, 2020 - Decanted 2.5 hours. Garnet with bricking rim, suspended sediment. Cherry kirsch bouquet and same on palate. High toned, nice acidity and body. Alcohol is perceptible and became more so on 3rd day. Tannins fully integrated and this is well into tertiary mode.

May 23, 2020 - Nose: alcohol heat, tobacco, leather, spices. Mouth: massive alcohol again, medium- to low acidity, full bodied, dried fruits, medium+ finish, integrated tannins. Unbalanced and already over the hill - drink up. Good but not great. Terrible QPR and somewhat disappointed. 89 pt.
