September 6, 2011 - I wasn't expecting too much from this bottle as it was outside its CT drinking window, but it turned out to be a nice surprise! Expressive nose with a refreshing aroma (plums & casis?), smooth silky palate with secondary flavors. Decent finish length.
January 1, 2010 - Big wine with nice structure. Nose was a little dissapointing compared to the body, but had hints of fruit and maybe tar. Balance is nice. Wish the finish were a little longer and more drawn out. Ready to drink , the acids and tannins have bithvmelliwed ro make a very smooth drinkable wine.
April 12, 2009 - This is a tasty wine. Decent value. I'll buy more, not huge tanic structure but should be good for a few years yet.
December 25, 2008 - Smooth, richer than I had hoped for $12. One of the best cabs for the money that I have had. Went well with prime rib at Xmas dinner.
April 12, 2008 - This wine is VERY tight upon opening and almost watery. After about an hour and a half it opens up wonderfully to jammy and earthy flavors - a great young cab for the price.
January 6, 2008 - Another ho hum napa 2nd label cab... I just can't find a good cal cab for under $40... after a little air it did improve, plums and dried fruit. I would say pretty typical or a bit above average for cab at this price. 04 seems to be a tough year to go wrong.
December 30, 2007 - Wow, what a difference a year makes. I think this wine may have been suffering from some bottle shock early, because I opened one up last night and it is unbelievable! Complex, round and just delicious. This wine now deserves to carry the Stags Leap Lable, It is aging wonderfully, and think it will be awesome in 18 months, now I just need to find more!
November 19, 2007 - Uninteresting and not too well balanced. Definitely not up to its bigger brother's caliber (or even close). There are much better wines for the price.
November 14, 2007 - Big and tasty Deep flavor, but not as developed as 2003
September 3, 2007 - Drink now. Balanced but peaking. For a realtively inexpensive Napa Cab, this was pretty nice. Nice amount of casis and plum fruit, but with some leather notes as well. Nice silky texture to this full bodied wine. Moderate dried fruit finish.
