  August 27, 2021 - Leroy Week; 8/24/2021-8/27/2021 (Hong Kong): Cheese wine. Blue cheese then gruyère according to a friend, which is awfully specific. With time showing some acidity on the palate, thankful to the maker’s style, and some earthy notes behind the cheesy ones. Even lightly sappy. Very high fill and purchased from a reputable cellar (quite a rare production, too,) so I don’t know what happened, but then this is the wine life!

  December 7, 2017 - lovely mature nose, light but bold with suggestions of licorice, delicate autumn leaves, and fading red fruitiness. explosive flavour with a long finish is tantalizing and reverberating: hits you all over. strong smokiness emerges later.

  March 14, 2014 - Un grand souvenir: élegant, floral, tertiaire, ennivrant!
  Assagi par le temps, peaufiné par les ans, ce Chambertin se montrait bien plus féminin que viril, avec ses arômes de fleurs des champs, de petites fraises des bois, de mousse, il avait gardé une fraicheur incroyable. La bouche avait un toucher doux, carressant, se resserant en finale sur une pointe de champignon voire de cuir ou de viande, sans aspérité ni dureté.
  Complexe et évolué, a pleine maturité, tout ce que j'aime dans les vieux Bourgogne!

  June 23, 2012 - Saturday at Domaine (Domaine Wine Storage): Drank alongside the 1985 Trapet Chambertin. It seemed that the Vieilles Vignes was just a touch toned down in almost all of the categories compared to the regular Chambertin. The funk was a little less exotic, the fruit a touch less rich. While it was a bit shy compared to its counterpart, this was still a phenomenal bottle of wine. Loved its earthiness.
