July 11, 2019 - Definitely has years of aging left. A robust wine on first evening after open for one hour. Fruit and tannins in balance. A good food match.

February 21, 2017 - Wonderful brambly pleasure here. Deep black fruit, chewy tannins with oak, stems & seeds that ate quite harmonious, especially for the price point. Great find for lasagne bolognese.

September 17, 2015 - Monthly tasting club "The Tasting Club" 2015-06; Tuscany (except Chianti) (@ My place): Cab. Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah blend. Gets 8 months of French oak. In the bouquet ripe and sweet red and dark forest fruits. On the palate dark and red berries, sweet spices, some autumn impressions, beautiful acidity and round, pleasant tannin with still a soft bite. Very clean and harmonious wine; a great pleasure. Fully mature now, but no real hurry. The score might seem high, but considering the wines around it in this tasting, it really deserves it.

July 21, 2013 - Beautifully balanced wine. Drinking great now, but I think I will wait another year before I drink my last bottle.

January 18, 2013 - Tuscan earth and barnyard, hint of oak. Pencil lead and mature tannins that say maybe I got some more time. This is awesome for the price. Got to love the baby Guado al Tasso.

December 24, 2012 - For 2009 vintage, figs and mild earth behind a mild very pleasant nose. Taste is too tannic now, hot. Needs another 2-3 years: should mature nicely. Good pickup for $20-25.

August 25, 2012 - Nat cork. Purple verging on black, rich and juicy looking in the glass. An initial rush of heat on the nose joins earth, grapey, and spicebox aromas. Also an intriguing herbal or floral thing underneath which is enticing. Maybe it was even root beer like. Med to full bodied, the cab component was easily recognized by both body and flavors - lots of cassis, vanilla, dark fruit like currants and dark berries. A bit bordeaux-like in fact, even more so with time in the glass. Lots of lip smacking acid, still a bit of prickly tannin, heat persists here too a bit unfortunately. The combo means this wine currently packs a punch - i suspect its above the 14% ABV listed. A modern wine, it tastes expensive, i got some pleasure from it but didnt think it was that well knit together or balanced, at least not at the moment.
