March 12, 2022 - This is the one that I remember from the Thunder Cruise. So good! Sweet but not overly so, with nutty notes on top of the dried fruit flavors.

November 7, 2020 - Tasted this during the Willie's Chocolate & Wine Masterclass organised by Wine Exchange Asia. Paired with the Los Llanos Gold Chocolate.

Gold in colour. Chocolaty nose with honey, fig, raisings, toffee, caramel and dates. On the palate the wine is sweet, lush, viscous and pleasing. The chocolate brough the wine to a higher plane when paired, bringing out a tangy, layered sensation.

February 29, 2020 - Fantastic. Much lighter and brighter than most Spanish PX. Very smooth, wonderfully sweet but in no way cloying. Plenty of richness, caramel, but with enough acidity to keep it fresh and clean with a long but light finish. A really lovely and interesting wine.

November 30, 2019 - This is a winner for sure. Honey and caramel abound. Just the perfect drink to finish dinner. Rich and inviting with a very lengthy aftertaste. Yummo.

January 3, 2016 - Light and sweet, not cloying like so many Australian fortified wines. Caramel and toast on the palette with a nice medium finish. Silky rather than viscous, not too rich, this is a very drinkable after dinner wine.

January 10, 2014 - A Ledbury Lunch (The Ledbury, London): Two bottles with consistent notes, and consistent with a bottle about six months ago, so I'll be lazy and repeat the note: The drinkable face of PX. Dark caramel rather than near black, light oil rather than the tarry dense viscous stuff that PX usually is. Caramel and toffee with a touch of toasted hazelnut. Sweet but not cloying and very drinkable. Maybe a little inconsequential, but actually all the better for it - a drink rather than an event. ***1/2
