January 30, 2010 - Nice to have a "properly aged" Riesling.This one shows lots of Riesling character, with some petroleum notes behind the usual Riesling package of aromas.
December 15, 2009 - Mid-good. Crisp but a slight harshness at the edges. (81.5.)
December 13, 2009 - Blind Riesling Tasting (My house): again, a non-riesling in the blind riesling tasting (who invited my brother, anyway??)
this was almost herbal, with some sulphur stink. No residual sugar to speak of, which now seems natural, at the time it was jarring.
September 7, 2009 - Lovely, intense Alsacian blend, great QPR - Gold, full bodied with a nose of apple, peach, lychee, grapefruit and pear, very complex, balanced, sweet/hot on the palate, with very good length (90 Points).
August 27, 2009 - very pleasing - delicate nose with peach, lemon, hint of apricot. Nore body than I expected with a waxy texture, racy acidity and a hint of honey.
July 23, 2009 - Good nose of honey, apricots and peaches. nice body, again with some honey and peachy component, ending with nice spice (gewurtz?). Better chilled, very drinkable and quite enjoyable.88-89
June 15, 2009 - A great candidate for a summer "house white". Dry and with enough acidity to stand up to spicy foods, complemented by melony leechee fruit. Only 12% alcohol. It's not going to change your life, or steal the spotlight at the table, but it will be a solid accent to whatever you've got going. Bravo, especially at the price! Great QPR.
May 6, 2009 - Wow, BIG flavors from a $12 bottle. Pale yellow wine that's all pineapple, peach, and apple on the nose transitioning to a dusty, flinty, almost yeasty/cheese smell. The palate has bright acidity, lots of crisp fruit, and maybe even a hint of petroleum/fire. Not my kind of wine but an excellent example of the region.
