February 12, 2019 - Drink up, it is a bit flabby, but it shouldn't really improve.

November 5, 2010 - Brought it to a friend's hous and had it there. On the sweet side but I liked it.

April 6, 2010 - On the nose: rubber ball, white peach, minerality.

Palate: apples, pear, nectarine, mango and just a little 'rubber ball'. I wish there was a little more acidity but it's still a delicious wine. Nice balance of sweet but notes of sourness. The finish has a nice length to it. 90+

March 3, 2010 - PnP to Burg glass. Tasted @60F. COLOR- a clean gold and very pretty to look at. NOSE- well on first sniff, among the heavy petrol aromas there's a very obvious dirty baby-diaper of early toddler variety that hard to miss or forget; I suppose more tasteful way to put it would be to say this smells of well cooked fava beans (those who've cooked them know what I mean). Besides those two elements, it's a stretch, but there's probably some sweet fruitcake hiding behind the #3, and as the stink wafts away there's dark amber, raw honey from the honeycomb matrix - certainly a very interesting if not a bit gross nose. PALATE- this is quite ethereal at this stage, and it has a way of packing a decent sized punch on entry before slowly and evenly quieting out through its phases to a whisper at the coda. But that's not to say this is thin or hollow; quite the contrary, this is very flavorful with tastes of honey-sweet pear and even a touch of pineapple, though this has only a modicum of acid. Very easy to drink (with it's 8% abv) and silky in the mouth, this is a wine to introduce to a soda pop fanatic that you're like to prime on wine. In fact the finish really does leave a Mountain Dew high-fructose corn syrup kind of flavor lingering on it. While I find this hard not to like, I find it easy not to love. It's just to blah sweet for my tastes and doesn't offer the acidity or mineral components (or even true fruit flavors) that I'm looking for in this kind of wine. That baby diarrhea on the nose sure was fun though (almost worth an extra point I'd say).

(Dr Karl Christoffel Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spatlese) #3; COLOR-golden; NOSE-very nice; lot of honey; a lime component; a honey flavored Margarita; burnt rubber; very aromatic; very fresh; TASTE-nice golden apple dipped in honey with a squirt of lemon; this is delightful; some nice minerality on the back-end; great w/ spicy food (Thai, India); very well made; very fresh & clean; textbook Spatlese Riesling; well defined sweetness that is not too desert like; GV-91+
