May 6, 2017 - It's been years since I tried a Col Solare and I forgot just how good these wines are. Very old world and elegant. A little funk but nothing remotely offensive. Very smooth, with great balance and long finish. No sign of its age at all.

March 8, 2017 - Still brick red in color, cherries, black cherries, licorice, coffee, and sweet peppers in the nose. Deep fruit in the flavor, blackberries, currants, and plums. Medium to long finish.

January 23, 2017 - Becoming a very nice wine. Aerated

December 25, 2016 - It tastes like mineral, black currant (cassis) and blackberry. The legs are medium. The wine looks garnet colored. There is light sediment in the bottle.

(Col Solare Col Solare Columbia Valley) A very different wine than the 2006 with more fruit aromas and tastes, including blueberry and blackberry, along with pencil shavings, a touch of vanilla, and a light floral bouquet. An elegant wine that is still built to last. 71% Cabernet; 25% Merlot; 4% Cabernet Franc. 14.5% alcohol. 7,000 cases produced.
