November 25, 2004 - As usual, Harvey Steiman is full of shit in his evaluation of this wine. Has he even tasted the wines he is reviewing?? Because his description of this wine, like so many other of his descriptions seems completely at odds with what we tasted. We found it to be a very nice Burgundian-style wine. We didn't find any predominant tastes of earthy spicy flavors. Not the best ever produced by Domaine Drouhin, but certainly a whole lot better than WS would have us believe. I suspect the rating has more to do with non-wine considerations and Harvey getting some "revenge" for who knows what - such as Bill Hatcher leaving the winery or Dominique Drouhin probably not around to stroke Harvey's ego - than any real problem with the wine.
