September 20, 2020 - Cork showed signs of seeping nearly to the top. However the wine tasted fine, though young. Seems like this should evolve slowly and start exhibiting grandeur, if the bottles aren't spoiled.

September 6, 2020 - This was pretty flat and muted throughout, out the expressive self it can show as. So... another bad bottle.

October 4, 2019 - This hitherto rather anodyne grand cru is beginning to develop, showing nascent depth and a hint of complexity. Tannins more assertive than I recall. The 2006 'burr' is present - a slightly rough streak of acidity I'm detecting in most of my 2006 red Burgundy - not a huge deal, but a a note out of harmony. The wine is taking on a pleasant Burgundian, glassy texture. 15 years is still adolescence for a good Corton, so, extending the benefit of the doubt to this, I'll try to pace my remaining bottles over 6 or seven years. Still value at $25/bottle, original pricing.

June 3, 2019 - Last of my 6 bottles that I bought from Premier Cru back in the day. The cork was completely soaked through and on first sip the finish was rather metallic and harsh. Great, I thought, yet another bad bottle from this batch. But it got better and better with a few hours of air, and with the last glass it showed some real promise with very nice purity of fruit and elegant notes of spice and earth. Still has a lot of room to evolve it seems, but does seem like a better time to pop one than 3 years ago.
I conclude that this was a bad batch in general, whether exposure to heat or bad corks I'm not sure, but more than half of them were quite decent so not a total loss, and at $25 a bottle PC sale price I don't feel too bad about the purchase.1 person found this helpful Comment -

September 24, 2016 - Second bottle of this wine that's not flawed, currently at 2 out of 3. Cork was stained half way up but the fruit was fresh . Good balance of fruit and acidity but lacking in depth and complexity. There's definitely structure to the wine though so perhaps just too young. Time will tell...
