November 17, 2009 - I'm a big fan of Saumur-Champigny region and had high expectations for this wine. Paired this with baked chicken and a mushroom & rice dish. Dark color, with a muted nose. Very dry, with stark tannins. Some cherry flavors, mineral, and some vegetal characteristics. Wine did open up during dinner, but never really integrated and remained disjointed. Second day was not an improvement. Had the feeling had opened at the wrong time in it's development

September 9, 2009 - Excellent stuff. Perfectly ripe fruit with good acidity, firm tannins and nice minerality on the finish. Classic vegetal Cab Franc nose with really nice floral notes. Glad I have more of this. It's a winner. Delicious and intriguing.

April 20, 2009 - Smoky cherry and raspberry on the nose (with decant), with drying raspberry, hints of wood (and bark?), and a bitter chocolate finish on the palate. Tannic, very dry, this wine improves in the glass, and keeps up the interest throughout.

March 22, 2009 - Very interesting wine - opens greatly after some time. Hint of cherry overlays the complexity. This wine offers very good value as well. The bottle drunk was "Les Murs" edition.
