March 1, 2013 - A nice seductive wine. A wonderful nose of cigar box and leather. Lots of cherries. Somehow still is a little disjointe. the oak has a strong lead.
I'm not sure if it'll improve more -

January 22, 2009 - Dense syrupy black red colour. Sweet curranty fruit nose, cough syrup and dark chocolate. Complex flavours in the mouth, thick luscious fruit, spicy oak coming through. Very good length and a firm decisive finish.

November 8, 2008 - a gorgeous nose along with ripe red cherries, cough syrup, spices and minerals on a medium-bodied frame. Made in a sweet, inviting style, it offers excellent length as well as purity in a very classic style. It also appears to have enough fruit to compensate for the volatile acidity which is present. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2018.
His 2005 Ripasso remains one of the greatest Valpo I have ever tasted.
