November 21, 2019 - Felseneck Vertical tasting of all vintages with Tim (Rocaille Düsseldorf): blind, Zalto universal glas
all 15 vintages of Schäfer-Fröhlich in 5 flights, all semi blind

For me just over his peak, broad, not elegant without too much ripe fruit. Missing length. 91-92

October 2, 2019 - A Good Tuesday, Vol III: The MixTape (Billecart, Rayas, ESJ, Kalin, Shafer-Froelich) (The Gerneral Muir): Yow. Intensity. Fresh nose that is more earthy, not entirely riesling-like with a grassy and herbal thing, some peach. Really powerful, I noted the extract that just lingers on the palate. Chewy. Long...Will probably outlive us all.

June 8, 2019 - Nahe^3: 10 vintages of Halenberg, Hermannshöhle and Felseneck + X (@Private location, Frankfurt): *** brief note from an extensive tasting ***
    Glass: Gabriel Gold
Tasted blind. Bottle opened about 2-4h before, double decanted before serving.
    Glowing, pale golden yellow color.
Multi-layered, complex nose with some caramel and ripe fruit.
Almost as much tension and pressure as the Hermanshöhle. Powerful, deep, lots of extract and some rather dark flavors. Great length. Peak, but will stay there for a long time. 93-94

December 10, 2017 - Reiht sich in die starke Reihe der Felsenecks 09, 10, 11 und 12 ein. Absolut frisch. Schlägt heute den Hubacker 2007 im Vergleich. 95

March 8, 2017 - I don't have a lot of experience with aged GG, so this surprised me for sure - was expecting something thick and rich in line with some the aged Austrians that I've had, but it is elegance and precision that make this wine shine. Light to medium bodied, mineral with excellent energy and length, which in many ways reminds me of a fine champagne.

(Schafer-Frohlich Felseneck Grosses Gewachs) This is just better than the previous three. Period. A step up in everything. Amazingly complex nose you cannot believe. Kaleidescopic in its breadth yet every angle and precise turn finely etched. The palate is juicy and slatey at the same time with gobs of minerality that is austere but grows precise with aeration. There is so much material here that I see this wine lasting much longer the other three. The structure here is incredible. As well as the finish.

(Schafer-Frohlich Felseneck Grosses Gewachs) This bottle is a monument to the vintage with its laser-like precision and astounding purity. Lots of flavors of lime, lavender and delicate stone fruits. Great acidity and tremendous and I mean tremendous length. Took two days to get going really well but once it did oh man. It is amazing how year after year Tim's GG's get cleaner, tighter and purer. Up there with Keller with some of the top GG's in Germany. Awesome wine.
