October 2, 2023 - Really lovely, big and satisfying but not overblown in any way. Wonderful complement to pork loin. No rush, but I'd drink over the next few years.

September 28, 2023 - 14.5% alcohol. G 80%, S 10%, Mrvdr 10%. The vg long cork is penetrated by wine over 5mm at most. Dark colour with little sign of ageing.
The nose is lively with a mixture of fresh and lightly stewed fruit; very appealing, with some pleasant pharmaceutical nuances appearing by the end of the meal. The mouth packs quite a punch while remaining remarkably agile; some blueberry in the lush finish, and no perception of oak at any stage. For all its might, this is not a flabby wine, and in fact the grip is vg.
Perfect with a big chunk of beef.

August 23, 2020 - Chateauneuf du Pape lunch (Frank's place in Matraville): From Coravin. Medium plus intensity aromas of coconut, vanilla, caramel; plenty of new oak here, brambly black fruit and a touch of taint. In the mouth ti's juicy but think and dense with chewy tannins, similar levels of oak and ripe blackberry fruit, alcohol warmth intrudes on the finish, still very primary and a bit porty. Hmm.
