December 18, 2020 - Another good bottle, but not as expressive and precise and the previous one. Lovely aromas of honey, white flowers and spiced peach; mild palate, ripe acidity, gentle bitters; relatively short and fuzzy finish.

December 22, 2019 - Intoxicating aroma of honey, peach, spiced apple, chalk and blackcurrant leaf; silky palate, mature and soft but perfectly fresh, both structurally and aromatically, lemon and flowers, very expressive of the terroir and the style of the wine maker. Excellent. Fully mature, but with time in hand. Two bottles left.

August 20, 2019 - So so complex, my notes say Krug-like!

March 25, 2017 - Structurally it is sound, but aromatically it is tired. Not quite oxidised, but the flavours of spiced, yellow apple are not much fun. I hope that my remaining bottles will be in better condition. Not rated.

March 6, 2011 - Initially some Riesling like gasoline aromas, then crystalline acidity, grapefruit, very good body and concentration, long finish. Superb, and can age some more easily.

December 5, 2010 - Fresh and relatively light colour; outstanding nose of flint, fantastic acidity, lovely fruit that is the precursor to a honeyed development, fantastic depth and finesse, wonderful balance, a great classic, creamy, after decanting a delicious and rich Sauvignon character escapes from its reductive prison, with an austerity and energy reminiscent of Rheingau. Excellent length, energy and finesse. No words of mine can explain its beauty, delicious now but promises at least two more decades of exciting development. After six hours in the decanter a whirlwind of flint and honey, veering from Moselle to Barsac. Fascinating.

October 4, 2010 - Dinner with Friends (Cotat, Pegau, Felsina, Saxum, Kracher): I wish I had more of these but this was my last bottle. Still youthful and showing no signs of being past prime. Light golden in color. The nose is great, elegant and complex. Minerals ride a wave of lemons with a barely perceptible not of grass. Full bodied. Layered. Perfect foil to Leek & Goat Cheese tart. Lots of minerals and fruit intertwined. Balanced acidity. Long finish.
