June 26, 2016 - Not rated because a pure Mourvedre is just not my taste. It seemed well made, but not much fruit came through. Very restrained, almost astringent. It's a personal preference, but Mourvedre is more enjoyable when blended with other varietals.
March 13, 2016 - - Brick color.
January 12, 2010 - Soft and forward with a perfumy sort of midpalate. A bit harsh on the finish, but delicious nonetheless. A great value and a classy wine.
January 6, 2010 - very subtle and smooth.. simple yet rich with ripe berries.. no harshness going on here.. aromas of juicy lean filet, nothing boastful, just pure simple and smooth.. you'll want to drink it all up at once! denner mourvedre is one of my personal favs. Also, made a demi glaze with it to go on top of chicken and was absolutely outstanding.
November 24, 2009 - Nice dark garnet color. Not much fruit though I do get some black cherry-oak, pepper and anise predominate.
September 20, 2009 - Really nice bottle of wine. Not fantastic, but definitely solid. Deep reddish color to it. Dark cherries, earth and some oak coming through. Solidly built with a great balance of tannins and acid as well. Quite a long finish that had me tasting the wine long after sipping.
July 5, 2009 - 80% Mourvedre, 15% Syrah and 5% Grenache. Ruby color. Black fruit and barbacued meats on the nose. Tastes of black cherry, earth and currant. Nicely integrated French oak. Well balanced. Soft finish. 341 cases made.
June 21, 2009 - Tablas Creek / Denner / Hoage; 6/20/2009-6/21/2009 (Templeton, CA): A bit muted on the nose and off-taste on the palate, just not very interesting, no animal notes whatsoever - bad bottle? ($40)
June 20, 2009 - Focused berry, creamy mouth. Meaty and oaky with a finish that builds nicely on the body. Tasted at the winery.
May 11, 2009 - Delicious.
