January 3, 2021 - Nice showing at 15 years of age. Decanted & enjoyed over 4 hours. Initial earthly nose that faded over time. Flavors of oak, dark fruit, tobacco, licorice & pepper - a variety of flavors in what I would call a “thick” wine. Drying tannins, which I believe indicates more cellar life. One bottle left in the cellar - I’m going to wait to 2026 and see what the future holds.

December 13, 2020 - Some may say this is on the back side of the age slope but I found it to be a mouthful of Tuscan goodness. A bit of licorice, smoke and leather with sturdy tannins and well balanced. Love it Maynard with some home made Pepperoni and Jalapeño pizza. MMM-Juicy.

December 12, 2020 - Very dark and dense. Dry tannins, tight and closed. Not sure if this just needs more time or will never come around and open up? Black fruit and tar.

November 11, 2020 - Weighty Super Tuscan demanding a weighty pairing. Blackberry and dried plum with mushroom and tobacco, and slight acidity on the nose. Heavy fruit on the palate but also heavy tannins and some astringency on the finish. Needs time to open up. Try again in a couple years?

September 15, 2020 - Superb Super Tuscan. Rich dark cherry, violet, plum and blackberry fruit countered and perfectly balanced by a a refreshing backbone of acidity and well-integrated tannins and oak. Smoky and leather as secondary notes. Delightful. Drink now - 2026. 14.5% abv. 50% Sangiovese; 25% Cabernet Sauvignon; 25% Merlot.
