November 4, 2017 - Pristine bottle, seventh from a case purchased in 2000. Very similar to my previous note. Double decanted and enjoyed over three days. There is a stalkiness on the nose which recedes but does not disappear completely; mature but lively flavours, intense and fresh, black cherries and (first milk and then) dark chocolate, develops an almost PX-like soaked-raisin sweetness, fresh rather than tannic; very good length.

September 30, 2017 - Pristine bottle, sixth from a case purchased in 2000. Light colour, mature but lively appearance; initial stalky notes on the nose recede quickly after (double) decanting, cedar and spices; soft but fresh palate, little or no tannins left, light and lively, smooth texture, juicy and sweet, good flavours of black cherries and milk chocolate; complete finish without (excess) heat, very good length. Fully mature, drink soonish.

June 4, 2017 - If a Vintage Port, a '94, shows already after three days the smell of lovage than you have to conclude the wine misses power and balance.
What rests are some raisins and some sweetness.

April 9, 2017 - This is my third bottle in the last year. Consistent in its features. Restricted though proper nose. Fruit, fresh by its limited sweetness, round, balanced. Good length. Realizing its limitations this is a very good port. 91 instead of 90 because of its reliability and positivism.

January 9, 2017 - For a '94 I found this wine too light, too developed, but forgetting the excellent vintage it was a nice and elegant port.
