    May 31, 2006 - Dark color
Fuirt on the nose with a hint of spice and earth
Thinner then expected and earthy wine.
    Very old wold
Some bite on a medium long finish.

April 19, 2006 - Always a nice wine to drink. Costing only around USD 10 (in Germany) makes it a superb bargain. This is an everyday wine for people that really like Merlot in a typical Italian style! Good to know that there is such a good wine at this low costs.

May 20, 2005 - deep purple color. a nose of strong wet earth chocolate, tobacco. soft round mouthfeel (merlot) with silky tannins, plummy tastes and some acidity. overall well balanced which is to be expected from this excellent vintner. i disagree with some of the others' ratings of this wine. maybe they are used to overoaked, baked fruit bomb, devoid of terroir merlots from California. (or they could be refering to the lower cost Vitiano ~$10). this one has Italian style, depth and with value (i paid $17).

April 10, 2005 - This was an unusual one.. Second of two bottles, the first one was tried about 18 months ago and was corked. Opened this one and also SEEMED corked. Nose of wet cardboard, no fruit. Having read tasting notes, decided to put it aside for a day. After a day the stink had blown off, no corked aromas, and fruit appeared. Good, but not worth the hassle for a $12 wine.
