December 27, 2020 - Tasted blind. Tart red fruit, brine, bacon, and olives on the elegant nose. Fine, yet powerful tannins with great acidity and mostly savory flavors of brine and red fruit on the palate. Feels quite Burgundian and pretty. Long finish. I tasted this from magnum about 1.5 years ago and the quality was consistent.

October 31, 2020 - This bottle was particularly tired. Drink ‘em soon.

October 24, 2020 - Lighter weight with strawberry and raspberry. Greatly outperforms the mediocre vintage.

September 19, 2020 - Welcoming the autumn weather with Chave Hermitage. Terrific depth and length.

May 15, 2020 - This is drinking well, not going to knock your socks off but a wine well made. Especially for the vintage

Had a beautiful spice. Use the first hour, then nose shifted to green wood and embers which was pretty cool.

(Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage) Brownish garnet with a fading rim. Dusty mineral nose with cherry and raspberry fruit dominated by secondary aromas of tea, saddle leather, and old wood. Luxuriant mouthfeel, with smooth tannins balanced by tart acidity. Herbs and spices come to the fore on the persistent finish; a good example of graceful aging. Terroir: Hermitage
