April 16, 2022 - Floral, cherry and forest floor aromatics with lift. Fully resolved palate with charming sweetness.

September 14, 2017 - Roumier Bonnes Mares / Amoureuses Dinner (Formento's - Chicago IL): Double blind in 97/98/00 vertical. Ever-so-slightly corked. So much great underlying material. Still quite tasty and drinkable.

March 10, 2017 - BM 97/98/02 and Amour 97/98/00. Jaw dropping Amoureuses, sensational... Pale garnet, pretty. Explosively floral, sweet ethereal aromas, close to perfect. Turned nail polish, even better. Light palate, which faded.

March 10, 2017 - Pre-Paulée Warm-up Dinner (Ai Fiori - New York NY): Simply stunning immediately when poured into the glass. In fact you could tell it was going to be great from the pouring process itself, without even lifting the glass! Floral, savory spice, sweet spice all surrounding ripe red fruit. This shorted softened get and losing steam after 30 minutes in glass, so was much less interesting. I own one bottle and will pop-and pour.

August 12, 2011 - Dinner with Amoureuses (The Bristol - Chicago IL): Paired with the completely contrasting Jadot 97 Amoureuses, which was far more accessible and hedonistic. Lots of spice from the start but with lean and glorious fruit. Over several hours this wine came forward and retreated numerous times. Sometime forward, sometime more lean, the spice and acidic spine never wavered. Compared with lots of other 97s, have no fear of this falling apart.
