August 10, 2019 - Unfortunately this was very much past it’s prime. Almost undrinkable, ended up dumping most of the bottle.
Such a shame since we bought this direct from the wine maker on our first trip to Italy.

May 15, 2012 - Lots of cherries and tea leafs come with the wine.Medium bodied and the color tends to go brick now, though the wine is very fresh. Excellent expression of the variety and the place and a good food partner.

January 6, 2012 - Decanted for 2 hours before drinking. Fragrant nose of raspberry, red cherry, tea leaf, pencil shavings, rosemary. Palate showed typical high acidity, medium body, juicy with good concentration and intensity but deftly balanced and very elegant, harmonious, textured. Tannins adding texture but fine and well integrated. Persistent, long, balanced finish. Again sour red cherry, raspberry, plum, tea leaf, rosemary, earth, spice, hint of oak. Great with food, harmonious, balanced, sweet fruit, very elegant. A true and pure expression of Sangiovese. Enough primary fruit, freshness and tannin to make me confident this will be good for another 5-10 years, and may get even better yet.
