July 4, 2021 - Somewhere between the two prior observers. Decanted for several hours. Well integrated with fune tannins. Dark fruit,

April 23, 2021 - Bloomed after an hour decant into nice faded roses, but nothing lively happening, no lift and no upside. Generic and underwhelming for a riserva of the vintage. Drink up.

July 5, 2020 - This was beautiful. Fully mature but still had some bite left ni it. Cranberries were dominant, but there was a little bit od cigar ash and black currant. Mid palate was packed with a punch that transitioned to a long finish. While this is ready to drink, I still believe it has a few years left

May 17, 2020 - Tasted double-blind. Darker in color than expected. Knew it was Italian from the outset. My first thoughts went to BdM and Taurasi, on account of the wine's rusticity, but something in the flavor profile, along with the expression of tannin, pulled me to Piedmont. I guessed 2009 Barbaresco, Pora or Monstefano.

Not a pretty wine, and based on this experience would recommend drinking over the next year or two. 91-92.

May 18, 2019 - Wines Tasted at HDH Auction (Spiaggia - Chicago IL): Small glass, brief note. Served to me blind. Immediately thought it Burgundy from the nose (without tasting). Floral red fruit with earth that made me think it considerably older, but also with slightly rugged tannins on finish. Good fruit but imperfectly balanced for me.
