June 4, 2023 - Tasted double blind. From the first sniff there was no doubt that this is a high class wine (and probably a Coche) with around 20 years of age. I’m a sucker for those Coche flint, matchstick, sesame aromas and hence I couldn’t get enough from this wine. Beside that one quality, it has obviously many others: high complexity, superb purity and definition, perfect density with a weightless texture and fell and an impeccable balance. This was a great bottle from start to finish.

TN: Intense, highly expressive nose with sesame, reduction, ripe orchard fruit, some crushed rocks. Great. Intoxicating. On the palate the wine shows the same intensity, the same power yet is so elegant and weightless. Sesame, matchstick, smoke, herbs, orchard fruit, a fine spine of lemony/citrusy notes, so much minerality. Wow. The weightlessness combined with the intensity is mind boggling. Superb satin-like texture and so much freshness Medium length probably but overall fantastic and so balanced.

    Decanting: No extensive decanting necessary.

April 1, 2021 - This bottle wasnt as complex and chiseled as the two bottles I had prior. The tension just wasn't there and the wine wasn't showing much else. I would drink up asap if this bottle is representative. same batch as prior bottles.

March 13, 2019 - Had over 2 nights, it showed more the second night....agree with others characterization: Matchstick with lemon and a nutty finish. It’s in a good place, not sure it improves from here

January 26, 2019 - Opened two bottles on same night... in a perfect place. great color light golden hue. showing slight age but not in a bad way. nose of flint, great minerality, almonds... just a delicious a bottle. 2nd bottle was even better... just more precise while still being rich. 94/95

December 29, 2018 - Served blind. Ultra flinty nose led me immediately to think Coche or 90’s Leflaive. Dark shimmering gold color. Lemon custard with almonds. Dense and delicious. Villages in name only, excellent.
