December 27, 2022 - Full bodied, well balanced, just starting to lose fruit, but fabulous during a late night music festival with Landis

January 9, 2018 - A gorgeous mature temperanillo, firm without being hard. Still plenty of sweet dark fruit and a touch of oak. Unlike others, we had only light to moderate sediment.

June 26, 2016 - Still dark purple in color. Lots of sludge in the bottle. Sweet fruit/sweet oak. I had my only other bottle of this in 2011. This seems a bit more subdued than the previous bottle.

May 1, 2016 - Dark red, very little bricking. Decanting recommended, plenty of sludge.
Nose of dark fruit, blackberry and raspberry for sure, moderate earthiness, some tobacco notes after twirling. Somewhat disjointed in the mouth, with light fruit and still moderate tannins. Cellared correctly since release.

August 4, 2015 - Double decanted; moderate sediment.
First pour one hour later: Medium red color with no browning at the edges; slightly cloudy. Wonderful nose of dark berries. On the palate, the black fruit taste is quickly supplanted by tannins in the mid and after taste. A wine that should only be drunk with food.
Next day: Bouquet unchanged. The fruit and tannins seem more balanced, and the aftertaste more pleasing. Definitely a better wine on day 2.

July 24, 2015 - We put this into quick service without long decant but did a quick transfer to remove ample sediment. Did not take a written note but dark, fresh and satiny. An excellent bottle with good flavors and structure more elegance here than power. The wood has all been beautifully absorbed. In a beautiful place and should be sound for at least several more years.

August 17, 2014 - Brought this to Craig's annual wine picnic, and it was a disaster. Either way past prime or suffering from a bad cork. Either way, totally undrinkable.
