April 22, 2010 - Golden yellow in the glass. Fruit, flowers, ashes on the nose. On the palate: subtle tropical fruit, seashore, ashes, scented wax. Nice refined mouthfeel with great acidity and minerality. Interesting. Blend of Chardonnay, Viognier, Petit Manseng, Chenin Blanc. 13% alcohol. Around $20

February 28, 2010 - Provided by Runny for a late, long Sunday afternoon lunch at Top Deck, Aberdeen Harbour, Hong Kong: a hot, damp afternoon which was not conducive to making serious tasting notes. Nice lemon-gold straw colour. Complex, multi-dimensional, fresh nose.... light acacia flowers and acacia honey, honeysuckle etc.. Palate is similarly complex and multi-dimensional. Some length and considerable weight but fresh lightness on its feet. Very good indeed and exceptional value.

March 13, 2009 - Dinner with Aime Guibert, Proprietor of Mas de Daumas Gassac (Chez Patrick, Sun Street, Hong Kong): Semi-golden, melony colour.. Nose of cats pee,, wallpaper paste and white flowers. Attractive palate of ripe pineapple but very well balanced by refreshing acidity. Reasonable length. Better when it warmed up slightly. Very good indeed, which is high praise because white Viognier doesn't usually do anything for me. This wine is a confusing misnomer because it is actually the "second wine" of Mas de Daumas Gassac Blanc but I'm sure a lot of merchants and restraunteurs will pass it off as the "Reserve" and I can't help but wonder why Aime Guibert, the owner, has labelled it this way.
