October 8, 2018 - decanted 2 hrs. Lots of funk, very old school Cayuse here. An half or so of air mellowed this somewhat, allowing a mature Impulsivo to emerge. Cured meats with green olives, good mineral underpinning, excellent high quality showing.
September 16, 2018 - Dark and brooding. Still pretty tight – also then comes across as a bit thin. Not as complex or thick as some of the syrahs. Fine but not amazing at the moment
March 22, 2016 - Wonderful.
December 21, 2015 - This bottle wasn't as impressive as previous ones. Came off a bit hot, though the fruit was rich and tasty.
October 4, 2015 - Delicious with a great nose of sour cherry and dark fruit with Rhone flavors, meat, smoke and berry and a long lingering finish
August 6, 2015 - Took to a tasting.
Had some of the typical sanguine and olive of Cayuse wines.
Didn't seem to as complex as other wines, but that may come with age.
Plus fruit and velvet mouthfeel was present and oak was present but not overly noted
August 6, 2015 - Double Blind Tasting w/ DC Crew (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.): First time tasting Cayuse Tempranillo, and I’m pretty impressed. Juicy black cherries, smoke and tobacco on the nose. Firm tannins, chewy and rich and bold, black fruits abound. Bold but vibrant with smoke, charcoal, hints of olive and tobacco. Seems like one to hold for three to five years because it has a lot of guts for the cellar and complexity to unravel.
June 13, 2015 - Dark and rich with a touch (just a touch!) of funk. Complex. Long finish. Not overheated but packed with fruit. Wow. No need to wait on this.
May 21, 2015 - Simply delicious Cayuse! Paired well with a Spanish stew.
November 21, 2014 - Wonderful Cayuse nose with layers of dark fruit, minerality, and earthy notes that culminate in a silky smooth finish, with more floral notes than I remember from the prior bottle.
