Community Tasting Notes 17

  • Brian Glas Likes this wine: 90 points

December 11, 2022 - Tasted after 90 minutes of air. Medium ruby with some fading at the edge. Savory red berry fruit. Still pretty sweet for a 17 year old wine. Good balance. Medium finish.

April 15, 2022 - Tasted after 1 hour of air. Some stewed fruit. Still some deep tannins here. Very little bricking. Some lift on the mid palate. Savory notes. Well balanced. Plums. Medium plus finish. No rush on these. Sad that Nina has hanged up her hat. One of Washington's finest winemakers.

February 4, 2022 - Tasted after 2 hours of air. Wow still holding together nicely for a 17 year old wine. Plenty of life left. Bright red berry (cherry?) fruit. Integrated tannins provide balance. Plenty of lift on the mid palate. Good length on the finish.

October 28, 2021 - Tasted after 2 hours of air. Red savory fruit. Currents. Plenty of acid but sweet fruit to balance. Hard to believe this is 16 years old. Plenty of lift on midpalate. Nice smooth finish.

March 7, 2018 - Last review was a bit stingy. This has really gotten to a great space. With medium purple to garnet and a light purple rim. Raspberry and black cherry and spice on the nose. Well balanced acid and fine tannins. It could last another 2 years. Even 2 days later it is fine to great.
