    June 8, 2014 - Dark inky hue. Heavy blueberry notes, thin bodied, easy to drink, mellow, not overly rich, medium finish. Wine may have peaked-- starting to get a little pruney.

    October 20, 2011 - Dark, inky purple hue. Raisin, prune nose. Full bodied, fruit bomb, spicy pepper. Seems like wine is peaking or slightly on down side.

    February 5, 2011 - Dark, inky purple hue. Raisin, prune nose. Full bodied, fruit bomb, spicy pepper. Certainly zinfandel! Preferred this bottle the first time I had it. Perhaps other bottles in my cellar will follow my initial impressions.

    November 10, 2010 - Enjoyed this bottle over dinner. More medium bodied than other zins, but I thought it still held up. Little spicy with raspberry tones. Nice nose.

    July 18, 2009 - N: Fairly closed; Some spice, raspberries, & alcohol.

    P: Med Full body, NICE acidity; Seems BALANCED. Very, VERY tight, with little fruit CURRENTLY showing. Plenty of tannins, though they're fine -- & soft, rather than harsh. LINGERS, though faintly.

    While in NO way a "sipper" [at least now], it DID go QUITE well with our spicy beef stew dinner.

    ========== Next day ===========

    N: Fairly open: Spice, cedar, & raspberries, + the alcohol is LESS notable than yesterday.

    P: TANGY acidity; MF body with NICE initial fruit [similar to nose] & a LONG, though somewhat faint finish.

    OVERALL, I find this wine to be a conundrum: FLAWLESSLY balanced from entry thru finish, it seems anything BUT with respect to its individual components of fruit [CURRENTLY restrained], tannins [up there, though NOT harshly so], & alcohol. Without previous exposure to this vineyard or winery, I'd not be willing to wager $38 that this would evolve into something worth THAT amount of coin. However, if buying @ TJ's for $14.99, it's probably a gamble I'm willing to take! [BTW, based upon THIS bottle, I'd decant it IF attempting to drink before 2011 or maybe even 2012!]
