February 20, 2023 - The fruit is sourced from the Pora vineyard - specifically from parcels owned by the Culasso, Dellaferrera, Manzone and Varaldo families. Released only after a minimum of four years of aging.

Deep, luminous and quite translucent pomegranate red color with a moderately evolved maroon hue. The nose feels dry, fragrant and relatively fresh with aromas of sour cherries, some gamey tones, a little bit of dark forest fruits, light floral nuances of roses, hints of tar and something smoky, a touch of sweet black cherry and a whiff of stewed rose hips. The wine feels dry, firm and sinewy on the palate with a medium body and somewhat evolved flavors of sour cherries and tart lingonberries, some game, a little bit of dried red fruits, light metallic notes of rusty iron nails, a hint of gravelly minerality and a touch of stewed rose hips. The wine is pretty firm and structured with its high acidity and quite pronounced, grippy tannins. The finish is dry, lean and noticeably grippy with a long but also savory and somewhat light aftertaste of cranberries and sour cherry bitterness, some gravelly mineral tones, a little bit of tart lingonberry, light rusty metallic tones, a hint of tart lingonberry and a touch of tar.

An aged Barbaresco Riserva that might otherwise be impressive and in a great spot right now, if it weren't for the rather distracting streak of metallic taste that jumps out quite immediately and lingers on in the aftertaste. This is still a nice wine that is on its plateau of maturity - and will keep there for some time - but the metallic taste really does take a toll on the score. Without it, this would've been a pretty terrific wine and among the better 1982 PdB Riservas.

December 16, 2020 - Mini horizontal of Rio Sordo, Pora, and Ovello. Double decanted in the morning to have with dinner. All were correct, and remarkably similar. Obviously well into their secondary plateau, but still fairly dark with some robust tannins. For my preference, a bit on the young side. Enjoyable, but good, not great.

September 9, 2020 - Gareth's Post-lockdown Piedmont (Noize): Some lovely pine needle and herbs. Retaining plenty of acidity and structure made this a great food wine, and I didn't find it particularly tertiary, but I did get the sense that it was on the edge and thus probably opened at the right time.

July 16, 2019 - Some bricking round the edges, looks its age. On the palate a bit severe, still tannic, very little fruit remaining. i think this will get more interesting as the tertiary notes flesh it out.

February 9, 2019 - Double decanted and given 2.5 hrs. of air. Deep and fresh nose with cool Nebbiolo fruit and tar. Fantastic texture, very elegant and harmonious. Combines power and grace. Long, balanced finish. At peak but no rush. Really outstanding. A cooler, fresher, more dark-fruited and in my opinion even better wine than the 1982 Produttori Rabajà tasted a couple of weeks ago.

October 20, 2017 - Drinking Priduttori at Magdalena

Deeper and reaching peak maturity. This has a meaty and savory slant to it that adds to the darker profiled nebbiolo fruit and florals that lean more toward violet than rose. Broad and forward, and with power and harmony. Outstanding. 92

Ren frukt i munnhulen, søtlige toner, svakt anispreg. Snadder!

April 1, 2013 - Fill 3,5 cm under korken. Hel flott kork.
