February 6, 2023 - An attractive dense ruby with just a hint of garnet at the rim. Plummy fruit with a touch of dust and a sense of Dundee cake across the top. Dark fruited on the attack, a density to the flavour profile which is relatively narrow but deep. A hint of liquorice and a more herbal element as it opens. The 14.5abv shows as a very thick legginess in the glass, but also through the density and slight sense of glycerol on the finish. Mid to upper *** for now, but will see how it develops over a couple of days. Day 2 and it’s lost the slightly warm, volatile Dundee cake notes and is showing a far denser, tighter dark red fruited Cab Franc profile. Some fine to moderate tannin on the finish too. On this showing, return in five years. Still not a four start wine, but it might get there with time. The 14.5abv not really obvious now either.
May 17, 2020 - Very nice Chinon. Perfectly balance between fruit, acidity and tanins. A little low on fruit. Nice age color, and blackberry fruit with hints of cedar and dry tobaco.
Nice match to moose filet and vegetables from the charcool grill.

March 23, 2013 - - It's balanced with a medium/full body. Leathery texture with a long finish - Nice Cab franc. God fruit, blackberries and dark plumes, hints of dark chocolate and coffe. Integrated tanins and acidity.
May 31, 2011 - Olho: Límpido, rubi migrando a granada intenso.
Nariz: Limpo, intensidade baixa, herbáceo, grama molhada, ainda simples.
Boca: Seco, acidez média, taninos e corpo pronunciados, persistência média, herbáceo.
Muito fechado com taninos e aromas ainda a se desenvolver. Vinho de guarda e deve respirar por umas boas 5 horas. É pagar para ver.

S - medelfylli ännu outvecklad m gräsigt pepprig, grön paprika, markerade klarbärstanniner, sv vinbär, fatkryddig m fin finish. behöver lagras några år.

March 5, 2011 - Very dark red. Shows the combination of sweat and stones that only the Loire can do, in a softer, riper cast by virtue of the vintage. Then shockingly tight and compressed in palate feel, indicating some degree of shutting down since I tasted it last 2+ years ago.
August 29, 2010 - Completely out of balance. Late harvested over extracted sweet fruity hot undrinkable shite. To be avoided.
