April 1, 2022 - Beautiful zin with a bit of age. Not overly sweet or oaky. Really nice example of a Napa zin. Recommended.

June 5, 2021 - Open in the bottle for about an hour. Nose is a bit sweet and oaky but it’s not over the top, with dried cherries and a hint of licorice. Palate is fresh with ripe plums and blackberries and a sagey freshness. Good body, good acidity and low tannins but enough to keep it perfectly balanced. Surprisingly delicious. Excellent with BBQ ribs.

November 8, 2015 - A classic bottle of Zin: vibrantly fruity, with enough acidity to keep it fresh and lively. Some earthiness underlying all the fruit provides a modicum of complexity. All in all, quite a tasty example of its genre.

April 13, 2015 - full throttle Zin. Good match for sauced, grilled meats. Not for the timid.

March 1, 2015 - Vanilla notes, and nice mouth feel. Floral nose. Not too hot, for a zin that is.

November 26, 2013 - BLACK CHERRIES, RASPBERRIES, AND A TOUCH OF LICORICE IN THE NOSE AND FLAVOR. MEDIUM TO LONG FINISH.

November 5, 2013 - - It's high in alcohol with a medium/full body. Round texture with a medium finish - Med-rich with a nice clean sweet fruit character. Subtle perfume.of sweet spice and floral fruits. The finish does show a little alcoholic heat. Ready to drink. Good but not great

July 14, 2012 - I'm beginning to learn that when you taste a wine that is extraordinary on your palate, it will not be so forever. Two years ago this wine knocked my socks off. Today it's just OK. I'm sure that context and expectations are influential, but this seemed more tannic and less balanced than I remember. Past prime? Poorly stored, as I found this sitting on a wine shop shelf baking for a couple of years? Whatever the case, you can still recognize the craftsmanship and the quality of the fruit. It just doesn't sing anymore. I think I'm becoming spoiled by all the direct shipping from the producers themselves. It eliminates a lot of variables.
