January 14, 2024 - Bell pepper on the nose initially, blew off after the first 30 minutes or so, after which it was red fruit all the way. Raspberry up front, cranberry in the middle with beeswax (almost like white, like a chenin) and on the finish. Textures are fantastic, velvety throughout without being the least bit chewy. Long finish on a surprising pop of acidity. Special occasion and couldn't resist opening this last bottle of my original 3. Drank side-by-side with a 2006 Corton Grand Cru (aren't we lucky, goodness), this was the redder, brighter and more alive wine and the favorite of all of us.

April 25, 2023 - Solid bottle. Cork breaking got me really upset especially since the wax seal on the magnum was fully intact. Cork was squishy and the wine seemed to be fine. It's hard to enjoy such a delicious and supple wine qhen you have to figure out a way to extricate three parts of a cork in front of guests. The wine was good to go upon opening. It got better 40 minutes later. Bright fruits of raspberry and strawberry. Nice balanced tannins and a soft velvety finish. I don't think the wine will get any better with time. Drink now.

March 10, 2023 - Dinner with Friends (Eagle Brook CC): Double blind, from magnum, popped and poured. Light meniscus with a deep core. A bit high-toned at first, this needed some time in the glass to relax and develop. Aromas of cherry, earth and red berry fruit. There's a hint of spice in there as well. Abundant ripe red fruit on the palate, and so while this smells as if it may be French, the fruit is a bit too generous. Herb and spice flavors emerge and carry the fruit through the finish. Balanced, with good acidity. Guessed 2002 Thomas pinot. (DocR)

February 17, 2023 - Bravo! Decanted for three hours … best sip was the last.

The capsule was puffy and there was significant seepage. I thought the bottle would be dead. As I carefully extracted the cork, it broke.

Still — the wine was in perfect shape. Phew.

July 19, 2022 - Popped and poured, probably a mistake but this was a late add to cap off a great meal with a fun group. Black fruit in front of a dark core, the density and chew really standing out. Dark and low-noted and really pretty. Great texture from fully integrated tannin. Finishes with a tiny lick of acidity... bet this one could go ten more years. One bottle left and we may just try that.
