November 21, 2020 - Nice nose, some ripe tropical aromas, ripe peach, low minerality; mouth is soft, a bit bland and lackluster, hasn't improved, hasn't gotten worse. This is just a boring vintage for German Riesling. Rarely do I not finish a bottle opened for 2 people, but I left about 1/3 in the bottle. However, a this paired well with spicy Thai food. Would have been better with a more lively vintage.

September 10, 2017 - Nose of apricots, mango and ginger. Fantastic mouth with plenty of apricot fruit, and a good long finish with excellent acidity. Amazing QPR wine that has held up really well compared to most 03's.

December 9, 2016 - Spicy gingerbread mango nose. Rich satisfying mouth. Good acidity on the finish with some peach and apricot. Has continued to improve each time I try it. Fantastic QPR.

October 5, 2015 - Cristalline citrusfruit, slate, rain water, tropical flowers, peach and apricot. Distant nuances of moldy cellarwalls. All this and gorgeous, invigorating, mouthwatering acidity. Perfectly balanced!

October 18, 2014 - Outstanding. Has improved even further since last tasting of a couple years ago. Spicy nose, apricot and gingerbread have become intense in the mid palate and finish. Excellent finish! Wow, I'm glad I stocked up on these.

November 6, 2013 - On top of all that slatey, candied citrus and tropical fruit, this has that typical old-fashioned funk of old hogheads, earth and mushroom. Lovely!

November 6, 2012 - Still drinking very nicely. Nose of tropical fruits and apricot jam. Medium density with a bit of gingerbread spice on the mid palate. Still good acidity on the moderately long finish. Better than I anticipating. I think this once again convinces me that while I'm not a big fan of the 03 vintage for the Mosel, in the Saar 03 was great for the second tier vineyards. Nose also starting to reveal some gingerbread as it breathes.

December 21, 2010 - Has aged very well. Nice notes of peach and tropical fruits, with a bit of that aged Riesling petrol.

December 10, 2010 - Pretty good for the price. Nose is nondescript white fruits and some green scents. Nice acidity and middle palate, touch too sweet and finishes short. Enjoyable for what it was, not memorable as I write this...

June 28, 2010 - Anita: This ’03 had very little a’s left in it and got quite tiring--could not finish my last glass. Didn’t feel any alc. either! nonetheless, very frty, but no complexity, soft, decent peach and trop frt-pear; Good weekday drinker. Didn’t go w/chicken & caramel
