May 9, 2020 - still pale straw colour, remarkable for age, classic aged Riesling nose with distinct hints of kerosene, classy, nose distinctly improved with time in the glass, kerosene burns off and underlying fine fruit complexity comes through, palate absolutely bone dry with steely intensity, particularly on middle palate, absolutely true to style, wine just continued to get better with time open and in the glass, after 3 hours it was really great, previous bottles I may not have left long enough

November 18, 2016 - Buttercup yellow, slight spritz; intense nose, steely, straw & wet stone bouquet; a steeliness envelopes an inviting mid-palate; classical Eden Valley Riesling (with no petrol notes). Can be enjoyed now but will hold five years.

October 15, 2016 - Drunk on a social evening, no time for a detailed review but much appreciated as a top class Eden Valley Riesling, very clean, quite powerful but enjoyable also drunk alone without food

May 15, 2016 - Fine, steely, intense fruit nose with petrol hints, classic dry Riesling, palate mineraly, steely, with marked acidity balancing the concentrated fruit to make a very taut style, has real character, I really like the style, classic Eden Valley Riesling

March 5, 2016 - young fresh pale straw colour, delicate hint of petroleum on the nose, classic Riesling, classy, fine and elegant with restrained intensity, very good indeed, palate has stony, mineral intensity on the front and middle, good fruit but totally dry in character, perfect balance, a class act, now in its optimum drinking window but has a long potential life, only I am not likely to leave it that long, it is so good now

April 3, 2015 - straw colour with green hints, powerful fine and deep mineral and fruit nose, on this particular bottle the kerosene character practically absent, powerful dry palate with real persistence, despite its power also very nice to drink alone as well as with food, excellent at the moment and I think at its peak for drinking

November 23, 2014 - distinct Riesling kerosene character, quite powerful, rather austere style, with marked acidity, drank well alone before dinner but certainly has the power to match quite strong food, good wine, probably in its best drinking window but no rush

October 12, 2014 - pale greenish lemon colour, nose of green gooseberry, very clean, quite acidic in character, hints of kerosene, palate also markedly acidic still, searing, also with kerosene hints, rather forward in style, still young and can easily be kept, will be interesting to see if if mellows gracefully

October 11, 2014 - a much more wooly nose next to the 2014 Julius. palate shows mature tree fruit. some of the 'plain' jelly bean I associate with some older Jermann PGs.

October 3, 2014 - Consistent to previous bottles. Well knit, this is now ready to drink; bone dry, citrus cut; deep. I thought kerosene in check, others thought otherwise.
