June 17, 2016 - First glass slightly jammy, lacked complexity, thought maybe it was past it. After being decanted for five or six hours, improved greatly. Enjoyed!
December 18, 2011 - Really nice, not too much farmyard for a new world pinot
October 20, 2011 - Francine Food Wine tasting 2 (Meadows): Light ruby. Classic vegetal nose of barnyard and forest floor with primary aromas coming out later. Dry, medium acidity, high alcohol, medium (-) tannins. Secondary flavours like coffee, moccha, mint (eucalyptus?) initially dominate over the strawberries and red cherries. A full body, layered and complex wine, richly structured, soft tannins yet the long finish is initialy quite bittersweet and unbalanced. After 30 min in the glass this improves.
Needs decanting or time in the glass to regain balance and for the primary flavours to open up. Francine made quail, guava gastrique, mushrooms and taro puree to go with it.
October 18, 2011 - One of the more sulphured wines I've had in a little bit. After extensive air the burnt match smell is going away. Juicy strawberry, sour cherry, mushroom, forest floor, touch of tobacco on the nose. Really smells delicious. Medium bodied attack of that same delicious and juicy red fruit, touch of cherry cola, gets a little vanilla on the mid. Really nice acid makes the mouth water, medium tannin. Good-length finish of dark cherry and a solid dose of earth. Nice modern pinot that will be better with time.
December 26, 2009 - Lazy, Boozy Boxing Day afternoon (Edmund and Shuming's place @ the Marbella): This was surprisingly good. Lovely nose, with bramble, earth and meat, mingling with dark cherries and strawberries with tons of peppery spice sprinkled on top. On the palate, sweet cherries, raspberries and cola flavours were held in nice balance with well integrated acidity and tannins giving a good fine grip. Finish had interesting touches of smoky bramble, twigs and more of those fine tannins holding up a dash of fruit that was just a touch candied. Not the most complex for sure, but a good new world pinot with a nice deliciousness paired with a good sense of restraint
June 19, 2009 - A delicious and well made New World Pinot. A good mix of ripe berries and cherry with a light touch of oak. Nothing special but hard to find fault with either.
