February 23, 2013 - Popped and poured into a large Pinot style glass. Rich purple look with thick vinuous streaks on the glass. On the nose there was a characteristic nose of black pepper, currants, gentle mustiness and herbs. On the tongue it is very balanced with hints of smoke, tobacco, wet earth and tannins. A very nice QPR with a variety of cheeses. I give this 89 - 90. I also think there is room for additional evolution.
August 26, 2012 - Barn yard on the nose, and the taste has Black Cherry, very balanced with a finish with grass/hay
June 28, 2011 - Surprisingly outstanding. CdP flavor profile on the cheap. Really like it.
March 6, 2011 - Corked.
February 16, 2011 - great
December 16, 2010 - Plum. Spice cake. Lots of earth...almost too much and I love the earthy stuff! Tobacco leaf. Herbs.
November 23, 2010 - nice
October 8, 2010 - quite an excellent performance for this wine tonight. somewhat rustic tannins, but the fruit was able to find it's way to a nice position on the finish. not decanted. consistent in the glass over 5 hours. no compelling reason to hold.
July 29, 2010 - not decanted, but you could. it took a good hour for the wine to shed some initial tartness/settle down in the glass. dominant red fruit and a pretty good dose of oak, but the wine works as a simple, yet satisfying QPR experience. nevertheless, i can sense this is falling off. drink. update, 3 days later: i private preserved approximately one glass, and remembered it in the fridge tonight. after letting it return to room temperature, i poured the wine, and...it tastes pretty good. fully rounded tannins and sweeter fruit, but definitely nice, if different. i will say that it's somewhat sterile. score stays constant.
June 13, 2010 - Well balanced red that is typical of the vintage, but it lacks any vibrant fruit. Solid wine, but not outstanding.
