March 21, 2024 - Wow. Just wow. I’ve always carried around in my head the mythical top ten wines ever tasted list. This is on it. A near-perfect wine. On the nose it brings tart cherry, currant, menthol, sandalwood, and tar. Brilliant nose - took me three or four minutes to move on to the taste, which didn’t disappoint. Silky, medium-plus tannins. High-minus acidity, still - at nearly age 20. A bit of masculine earthiness in a mouth feel that is so pure. Remarkably fine-grained tannins. A hint of balsamic that comes and goes quickly. Bright red cherry, balsa wood, menthol and tar. A long, gorgeous finish. A soulful wine. On the table with a 2000 Leoville Barton and a 2007 Biondi Santi and this was the one I was most sad to bid adieu.

September 4, 2023 - Wow. Was a touch closed for about 5 mins and then took off! Beautiful floral nose which changed and developed constantly throughout the evening. Some balsamic notes but nicely balanced. Properly long and intense. Thanks Ian! 4.5

August 27, 2023 - Barolo magistrale. Potente e elegante, completo, tannini perfetti, lungo, in continua evoluzione al naso. Decantato un’ora e mezza, migliorato nel corso del pasto. C’è Ancora tempo per berlo ma già adesso è una goduria.

May 24, 2023 - Ian's Birthday Piedmont Extravaganza: My runner up as WOTN.
On the nose this entices you with silky, plush, deep red cherry and high toned tar.
On the palate this is very polished and well made, everything flows together from the attack, to mid palate to finish. Excellent delineation and a really long finish. -

May 24, 2023 - Ian's Piedmont Extravaganza (Noize): Holy crap... this wine was in the zone! So aromatic - the essence of Nebbiolo. Crisp, elegant red fruit, immense energy, seamless and complete. I needn't say more. Group #2 tonight.
