January 24, 2022 - Ljuvlig. Väl balanserad med mörka bär, silkiga tanniner, bra syra och lång eftersmak. Tillsammans med Hjortinnanlår och palsternackspuré
härlig middag tills m Ulf o Ingalill

January 21, 2022 - Wow, this is utterly on point. White pepper, kirsch, cherry and raspberry ganache. Ripe, fluid, silky, no rough edges, no heat, this is really insane, probably the best Clos des Papes I have tasted (although I have had SOME tastes of the 2003 reach similar heights). Mmm, hints of leather and tons of garrigue on the finish, just utterly Provencale, delicious. Very special wine.

January 14, 2022 - PnP. This is my first perfect score I just can’t see a CdP being any better. All kirsch, herbs, savory. Full bodied , long finish. Amazing

January 1, 2022 - probably the best CDP I ever tasted. infinite length. body extremely thick of strawberry but not excessive jam. everything is balanced and integrated. perfect at opening. perfect 2 hours later both with bbqed duck filet and cheeses afterwards. perfect also the next day. lucky to have a spare bottle of this. no hurry though.

January 1, 2022 - Magnum decanted 2 hours prior but went from good to excellent to outstanding.
It is everything a Chateauneufdupape should be and is seamless and joyful. A little barnyard blows off leaving garrigue and herb and cherries and then a beautiful round cherry not on the palate and clean long finish with no alcoholic heaviness or bitter edge
    Happy New Year!

(Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Rhône Valley, France) Clos des Papes is a traditional estate that has been producing wine in the region for more than 200 years. Although proprietor Paul Avril died this year, his son Vincent carries on his legacy. Refusing to create a special cuvée, as many of their competitors in the region have done, the Avrils produce a delicious Grenache-based wine aged in large wood foudres. The 2007, from a forward, ripe, and rich vintage, is full-bodied, with kirsch, licorice, and blackberry flavors; a lush, supple texture; and a long, balanced finish.
