June 4, 2021 - A wonderful wine at its peak or perhaps a few moments later. The underlying flavor of deep grass, apricot and pear with the hint of a tart pluot skin. It's amazing that this wine was so fresh tasting.

February 5, 2014 - I think the Allen vineyard W-S Chards hold up the best over time, compared to the other single vineyard Chards. I was pleasantly surprised by the balance of fruit and acidity and round feel still prevalent.

September 17, 2013 - Tasted double blind. Ripe, slightly mature, orchard fruit aromas with charming fruit and new oak spice and hints of summer flowers and some nutty hints. Tasted blind, I immediately thought this Meursault 1er, prob from approx 2004. Very impressive and balanced RRV Chardonnay, with good acidity and textures throughout. Balance particularly impressive since this didn't show heat, despite 15+% alcohol.

March 28, 2011 - Intense wine. A little too much oak on the nose for me. Big palate, great balance and intensity. Rich wine.

May 4, 2010 - Still very solid at this stage. I wouldn't wait long, though. Paired nicely with a very French fish preparation -- had enough minerality and acid to cut through the somewhat rich saucing.
