There's so much savoury nuance and ripe, dark fruits. It is bold, 'old school' Barbaresco, with elements of beauty. Balance is bang on and there's still ample structure and a finish that simply drives on.

January 3, 2018 - The nose has some tar, compost, porcini and sweet earth. The palate starts off tasting like rum and raisin ice cream. With more air you get some florals and a suggestion of bitter chocolate. The wine's structural elements are muscular and it is a wine of good depth and presence, drinking really well now. The finish is all balsamic and salty black olive.

May 17, 2015 - Inevitably, I was bound to run into some duds from the old Italian bottles I got from Chambers. This is one of them. Smells like red wine vinegar. I'm not tasting it.
