November 11, 2016 - Very well balanced, dark red color, dark fruits.
January 10, 2011 - Pop and pour, drinking over three hours. Opened with nice rich fruit aromas and flavors on the mildly short finish. A little thin midpalate, but at least for the first half hour this was showing nicely. The fade came too quickly to merit a higher score, however -- thinned out and left more bell pepper notes in the less-attractive finish. I'd be drinking these with steaks NOW if I had more.
November 29, 2009 - Served with aged ribeye - beautiful dark color with dark fruit on nose (currants, plums, touch of vanilla and chocolate). Jammy with some dark fruit plus vanilla and raisin with good tannic balance. Great wine.
September 20, 2009 - Dark purple color with aromas of black currents, plums , dusty dried flowers, vanilla and chocolate. On the palate, blackberry jam, raisin and vanilla. long rich fruit laden finish. More balanced than the past performance.
August 24, 2009 - Dusty red berry fruit, raspberry jam, figs, lavender and fall leaves but a little too hot on the nose. Rich, full even syrupy with currant and spicy blackberry preserves and a bit of cedar. Finish is long and pleasant with red fruit and a bit of cinnamon / nutmeg but again the presence of alcohol is apparent. Enjoyable but not my cup of tea. Unfortunately I feel the alcohol is too apparent and in this case took away from an otherwise enjoyable glass of wine. Notes taken after two hours in decanter.
June 29, 2009 - Good but not great bottle of wine. I love most blends, especially French, but found this to not be at the quality I typically like. It did taste better after opening up for a few hours. I would buy another to give a 2nd try.
January 9, 2009 - Good dark fruit notes, obviously blend of very good wines. Early drinker, won't cellar worth a dime. What Costco would sell if they could buy overstock from Opus One.
December 6, 2008 - Incredible blend. Old style but with plenty of fruit and body. A dream at under $40. Easily comparable to CA blends priced at twice as much.
