September 12, 2020 - Georg Breuer - Vertical Riesling Nonnenberg 2001,2006-2018 + X (@Private location): *** brief note from vertical tasting ***
Glass: Gabriel Standard
Popped and poured. What a surprise for this complicated vintage! Nose with some botrytis, vanilla, but also lots of crushed stones.
Very deep, dense and mineral. Astonishingly lean, not broad and not too much botrytis. Very zesty, some bitte orange notes, some green, harsh notes. Long. 92-93 -

October 27, 2019 - Breuer Schlossberg ve Nonnenberg 1996-2008 (Weingut Breuer in Rüdesheim): Not blind, decanted for six hours
Good density. Strongest wine in this flight. Yellow fruits as apricot and plum. Opulent in the end. 921 person found this helpful Comment -

October 25, 2019 - Georg Breuer - Double vertical Schlossberg / Nonnenberg 1996-2008 (Weingut Georg Breuer, Rüdesheim, Germany): Glass: Stölzle White
All wines (except where noted otherwise) where double decanted about 7-10h before tasting.
Medium golden color. Clean, deep nose with some ripe fruit, apple must and the same earl grey tea note that I also noticed in the Schlossberg.
Rounder and a bit “darker” than the Schlossberg. Juicy, with some ripe lime, spicy, wonderful balance and precision, beautiful length. Drink within the next years. 931 person found this helpful Comment -

July 10, 2012 - Light straw yellow hue, youngish looks. Good complexity on the nose, without any of the vintage '06 grey rot. Pronounced minerality with understated petrol notes. Fresh, floral and herbal fruit rather than exotic ripeness. Solid dry taste with acids that are rounded rather than sharp, and good structure that itsn't disturbed by too much bitterness. So elegant - a great achievement in a difficult riesling year. Still young, will keep for years.

March 31, 2011 - Medium straw yellow colour. Complex nose with minerals, petrol, ripe quince, lemon, flowers and dried herbs. Fresh with some evolution. Palate is bone dry, with high acidity which is impeccably balanced by the extract. Flavours of limes, lemons, and flower blossoms. Finish is long and complex, candied fruit, grass, citrus and flowers. Masculine wine but light handed (only 12%) delivers effortlessly flavours and exudes finesse. I had it now and it was perfect - could evolve for many more years.
