March 4, 2019 - While I more recently acquired a few '07s of this, this was the only one of these we had that we brought home from the winery some years ago. I knew they could age, but I wasn't exactly sure what to expect at this point, given the CT window ending in '14 and no recent notes, and then the cork snapped, requiring some filtering into the decanter. Well, the wine inside is perfectly fine and not tired at all, though I'd probably not sit on them more than a few more years at this point.

Dense, opaque coloring still, with garnet edges. Aromas of black and blue fruits, spearmint, eucalyptus, potting soil, green pepper, and tobacco. Medium (+) body, medium acid and finish, and flavors of cassis, charred green peppers, and lingering minerality and light bitterness. Perfect with barbacoa tacos tonight.

December 5, 2014 - Bottled opened up after 30 minutes. The finish is much smoother and fruited than the initial sip. Wonderful finish.

October 12, 2014 - I thought this may have been past its prime, but it wasn't. This is really smooth and very easy drinking. Slight tannins indicate this may have a little time to live.

October 20, 2012 - Drank after a short decant. This is just perfect right now with everything in balance. The oak treatment has mellowed into a subtle cedar and vanilla mix. The fruit, cedar and soft tannins dance in unison on the palate, finishing with a silky mouthfeel and long ending. Sorry to see this one go.

September 8, 2012 - Unfortunately this was my last Boyle of this wine. Definitely was the best one yet. Well balanced, good fruit with nice finish and a little pepper (which I like). Very very enjoyable. Allowed to open up for 2 hours. Didn't last long!

February 11, 2012 - I think this is at it's peak. There's something about these Cab Franc blends that hits me just right. The fruit from the blend is perfectly balanced. The tannins are still showing but nicely integrated. It all adds up to a long finish on this outstanding wine.

February 11, 2012 - Nice color. Good nose and right amount of fruit. Earthy taste. Opened 2 hours prior. Stood up nicely against some much more expensive wines. Drinking well now (much better than a year ago). Enjoyed.
