July 14, 2018 - A delicious Cab! Still has some lively flavor after all these years. Smooth and silky finish, well balanced tannin & fruit, and a long finish.

February 20, 2018 - I truly believe Burgess is a "hidden" gem amongst the expensive Napa landscape. Always a good Cab at a great QPR...a step up from the mass produced CA Cabs.

December 12, 2015 - Drinking well at 10 years old and likely peaking. Fairly typical Napa cab with aromas of red currant, dust/earth and herbs. The palate matches, adding cherry and a hint of licorice. Medium acid/tannins add structure.

February 14, 2015 - ruby, mild cassis aroma, balance earth and oak, muted red fruit flavor... still needs airtime: 88 first hour, 89 second hour, 90 third hour... a nice classic cab, but only a fair value, not worth seeking

September 7, 2014 - delicate flavors. Excellent balance, but I will be drinking most of my case within the next year

February 6, 2014 - If you like a earthy Cabernet, this is it. Fruit was very subdued, but what was there was nice. Not sure if this will get better. I would say drink up.

January 8, 2014 - One of their Library Releases. Popped and poured; synthetic cork (Supreme Cork??). Loads of beautiful dark fruit right out of the gate but the initial intensity wore off within the first ten minutes. While it didn't subside completely, it became very clear to me that this bottle was ready to drink. All of the tannins were soft as a goose down pillow and there are secondary characteristics showing: leather and decaying fruit. Nothing bad here but again, it's not going to "improve". If I had more, I would drink in the near term.
