    -----------------------------------

July 16, 2016 - This whisky was medium to dark amber in colour (non-natural) and had a sweet-scented nose of orange peel, raisins, chocolate, toffee, caramel, smoke and sherry, complemented by a maritime, seaweed-like note. On the palate the medium- to full-bodied whisky showed raisins, orange, caramel, chocolate, sherry and smoke, again complemented by maritime notes on the finish, with warming alcohol and good length. This whisky seemed a little bold at first, but turned into a smooth, beautiful drink shortly after adding a few drops of water. Fuller and more intense than the Bowmore 12, with better concentration, if less agreeable. Body 5/10, Smoke 5/10, Sweetness 5/10.

April 8, 2014 - Tasted at a scotch event hosted by Robin Nance of Morrison Bowmore Distillers at Lukas Liquor, Kansas City, MO on 4/7/14. Characterized by iodine, caramel, honey, spice, coffee, and butterscotch. A solid dram by Bowmore. -91 points-

May 6, 2013 - (Whiskies@Baxter w Geoff) Sweet dark aroma, with marzipan, praline, toasted almonds, light fruits and just the lightest smoke. Palate shows light fruits, dried figs, dried apricot and muscat raisins. Surprising lightness compared to the nose. Odd hint of mothball amidst french vanilla and caramel glaze. Sustained and elegant peat and dry balsa wood finish. An elegant drop! With water, sandalwood sweetness emerges, but loses fruits, while a dusting of white pepper. Again, a sustained finish. Further watering coaxes white florals and milk chocolate on nose, while realeasing a soft chewiness, and sweet earthy ginseng. Perhaps still best unwatered.
