Community Tasting Notes 15

August 15, 2011 - Still going, but nearing the end of its days. Apricot marmalade with stony accents. Acids still going. I love French fruit.

July 2, 2010 - Good color and bouquet. Heavy mouth feel and very prominent taste of yellow apples and spices, but everything is just ruined by too much alcohol and prominent heat. If alcohol is better contained in other vintages, this will be a fantastic wine.

March 30, 2010 - Promising at first - hints of tropical fruit and above all pear. But it was all fun and games until I had the first sip - Apple juice... in a bad way. Kind of like an acidic and tired cheap chardonnay.

January 12, 2010 - Consistent notes. This is beginning to fade and should be consumed over the next year. Still, the lingering acidity and balance keep it enjoyable. Very delicate fruit attributes with a stony, peach-pit appeal.

September 25, 2009 - It's about Midnight and I'm sitting at a campfire in the woods near the Canadian border on the Northern Minnesota side in the middle of the woods. Obvious pineapple and citrus. Not a bad wine as I ran out of red with my Grouse skillet Dinner. I just wish that I had some ice left in the cooler as this wine would have been better colder. I think I'll try to find more bottles of this stuff.

(Domaine de Triennes Viognier Vin de Pays du Var Sainte-Fleur) Bright straw in color, with a nose of clean, fresh lemon, lime, honey, nectarine, apricot, mango, banana, papaya, pineapple, and slate. This wine is medium-bodied and intense, showing a pleasant, round creaminess, though brisk acids wake up the palate like a splash in the sea. Provence: Heaven for the Senses
