February 20, 2019 - This bottle has been in my cellar for over 22 years. Opened for SuperBowl and sipped over the next 2 weeks. As others have reported, there is some cork deterioration and mine broke off leaving about 1/3 still in the neck. The rest came out on the next try. The top 2/3's was still very solid with no evidence of leakage.
    PnP, no decant, no aeration.
This port is a clear bright ruby red with a pleasing sweet and woodsy aroma. No heat on the nose. Typical vintage port fruity palate profile but very delicate and refined in the mouth. Tannins are way in the background as is the alcohol. Very pleasing, very delicious. Medium long finish. As good on Day 15 as on Day 1. Too bad this was my only bottle. Hard to see this port improving with more bottle age.

September 5, 2018 - The cork pretty much crumbled on the way out. The bottom end of the cork especially disintegrated. The wine decanted clear. Excellent color. Still quite red and beautiful. Sweet. Typical Port flavor profile. Good background tannins. Fruit very obviously. Fried fruit. Good structure and youthfulness. Fruit cake profile. A little spice. I think this wine has held very well. Should be stable for easily another decade. Cork condition is a concern but that usually won’t affect the wine, at least for a while. Extracting it is difficult. Be ready with many tools and be prepared to run it through a screen to catch some loose cork bits, if the cork crumbles on you at the last home stretch of extraction. This is why there is such a thing as the Port tongs for breaking the bottle neck below the cork. Two left in the cellar.

April 11, 2018 - The cork fell into the bottle upon my attempt to open it. Blackish color. Left a lot of dark and pasty sediments. Still bright and fruity. Very little tannins at this stage. Not too complex. Good and pleasure giving. Brighter in taste and darker in color than I had expected. The flavor profile was very traditional.

February 5, 2018 - Enjoyed over two days. This is just okay and the reason why is that over two days the sense of alcohol was consistently present. It resembled a spirit with some port like characteristics including the delicious taste of dried fruit. Still, I would have hoped for a more integrated and less spirit like beverage. This is consistent with my note from a year ago. I do lot hold this in as high regard as others do.

November 25, 2017 - Solid vintage port with age; not transcendent but has typicity and lots of life still ahead of it; bought for a value price and more than gets the job done.
