March 29, 2024 - The 2007 CDP vintage continues to disappoint. Was really hoping for a good bottle here, as this wine has been properly stored since release. Alas it is sadly DOA.

February 19, 2024 - Decanted about an hour. Great nose and palate for a couple hours afterwards. Rather powerful on both, but paired well with Greek gyros and tzatziki.

January 16, 2024 - Drank at dinner, so no detailed notes, but damn, this was good. A heavenly nose, and such intensity on the palate. I'm almost sorry I shared it with the rest of the dinner party.

    Very expressive.
Still have at least 5-10 years.

July 1, 2023 - Drank the Vielles Vignes along with a long list of other red wines - I beleive that I would have enjoyed this wine a lot more on its own rather than alongside more structured Bordeaux-blends. For those that are still holding on to this vintage it probably has quite a few years to go.

February 2, 2023 - Revisiting this after many years and I can see why this can be a controversial wine. Even after 15 years with a chance to settle down the extraction and mouth feel are impressive. Blackberry compote comes to mind but it is not flabby as there is excellent grip and structure here. If you are an SQN fan this will undoubtedly be in your alley. Traditionalist will however scoff at this and likely call it a freak saying it is not typical and lacks a sense of place. Does it strike as a classic CNDP -not, but is is it a unique and well made wine, hell yes. Tonight we had it SBS with a 2007 Clos Des Pape which exhibited a much more traditional disposition but was also fairly opulent. 2 great wines which expressed the beauty of this vintage and should continue to evolve and drink for decades. The Jansse VV did seem to be slightly more favored FWIW. YMMV.

February 2, 2023 - Still drinking well. Still over the top. Will never become anything other than what it is, but if you like big jammy wines made with care, then this is your bottle.

This is a big wine and needs time in the decanter. Deep large palate with incredible richness.
