February 9, 2020 - Translucent brick red in color. A nice aroma of cherries and sharp spices. The fruit pushes more to the cherry side, but with strong strawberry notes and a bit of spice. Beautiful acidity and balance. Moderately long finish, spicy and earthy. Could hold at this level for another 2 years. 13.1% ABV.

January 5, 2019 - Black cherry and marionberry, forest floor, mostly-resolved tannin; this has aged gracefully

December 30, 2018 - Lacy, featherweight and complex with just enough power and detail to hold your attention. Fresh cherries and roses, a bit of earthen funk, maybe a hint of sandalwood. Just beginning to come into early maturity for my tastes, this was singing from the get-go and remained fresh over two nights.

December 7, 2015 - Drinking beautifully right now. Red fruits, herbs, and subtle earth on the nose, followed by a lacy, delicate mouthfeel with vibrant acidity giving it a refreshing snap. Not much tannin structure evident in this, but I'm sure it will hold at this level for some time to come. Nice bottle.

August 3, 2014 - I have several of these and it is time to drink them. They are at peak. Best with salmon. Bright fruit, typical Oregon but not getting any better. Drink Up.

April 21, 2013 - EWG Tastes Oregon Wines - April 21, 2013 (Roy's Pasadena): What a beauty. 100% Maresh vineyard which has to be one of my favorite sites. Typical of an 07 it is not going reach out and grab your attention. Nuanced and subtle with fairly big acid. I bought these on futures IIRC or at least a nice discount. A great purchase and I look forward to my next bottle. I don't know if I am going to let my 07 age too long but I might let one of these bottles go for the long haul. Be a good test of the screw cap too.

April 21, 2013 - EWG Oregon Pinot Dinner at Roy's (Roy's Hawiian Cuisine): This sported nice subtle spice notes and light cranberry with a pale ruby color; on the palate I got light metalic minerals, quite thin mid-palate, but nice fine grippy tannins. This wine underwhelmed me and thought it lacked intensity in the mid. Kind of the polar opposite of the 2000 St. Innocent.

February 20, 2013 - popped into a decanter and started drinking immediately. Initial sips had the OR funk on the nose, and an unbalanced heaviness. After about 30min the funk dissipated allowing the acidity to shine. This wine is really straddling the boarder between new and old world. Its just a touch too heavy to be from burgundy, but the acidity is there, as well as the restrained red berry fruit. Its a good bottle of wine-the problem arises at the price point: at $40 this is a good wine if you like burgundy; at $60 you'd get way more nuances and complexity from a premier cru burgundy minus the residual heavy OR character.
